About Laura ...

"we remember... (her) endurance inspired by hope!"
1 Thessoalonians 1:3

In Nichole Nordeman’s beautiful song, Legacy, she writes . . . . . . I want to leave a legacy, how will they remember me?  Did I choose to live, did I point to You?  I want to leave a mark on things, want to leave an offering; child of mercy and grace, who blessed Your Name, unapologetically, to leave that kind of legacy.”

Our memories of Laura resonate with the moments of faith, love, and laughter which filled every day of her life.  She has, indeed, left a powerful legacy.  She died much too soon, at the age of 30, after a very long battle with brain cancer, but she will be remembered always.

Laura loved to run, and knew the importance of keeping herself strong physically, emotionally and spiritually, so that she could fight the cancer that had invaded her body.  Even in the last days, she “ran” with such strength and courage . . . it amazed us all. She never allowed the cancer or the treatments to keep her from the things that were most important to her. . . loving her family; bringing glory and honor to God; spending precious moments with friends; and bringing joy to those around her.

People were always struck by Laura’s beauty . . . not just her outward beauty, which was clearly evident, but a deep inner beauty that came from within her heart.  Above all else, she loved being a wife and a mother, and knew how very blessed she was.  “We (will) continually remember before our God and Father, . . . (her) work produced by faith; (her) labor prompted by love; and (her) endurance inspired by hope.”  I Thessalonians 1:3    Laura has left a legacy that will long be remembered.  She has left an imprint on our hearts, and we pray that our lives might be forever changed.
